Role Summary

The Screener is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient baggage screening at the airport. This includes detecting prohibited items, operating screening equipment, performing inspections, and maintaining compliance with aviation security regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate X-BIS equipment for baggage image analysis.
• Detect prohibited items such as weapons, dangerous goods, or ammunition.
• Conduct physical baggage inspections and ETD tests when required.
• Maintain high TIP (Threat Image Projection) detection scores.
• Follow BCAS and DGCA aviation security guidelines.
• Document screening activities for audit and compliance.
• Conduct pre-operational checks of screening equipment.
• Report equipment malfunction and maintain operational logs.
• Coordinate with CISF, airlines, and airport staff during inspections.
• Ensure screening operations are completed within operational timelines.

Educational Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• TSA certification required.
• AVSEC certification by BCAS preferred.
• DGR CAT 12 certification (DGCA approved) preferred.
• NCC “B” or “C” certificate holders will be given preference.

Work Experience

• Freshers or candidates with 1–2 years of experience in security screening.
• Experience in airport or aviation security environments preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Vision: Minimum 20/60 without glasses or 20/20 with corrective lenses.
• Hearing: Hearing loss less than 30 dB.
• Clear communication and speech ability.
• Ability to detect odors and perform physical inspections.
• Professional appearance and discipline required.
